Today we are celebrating Dr. Stacks for National Counselors Week. She supports students not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, helping them feel seen, supported, and capable. Because of her care and leadership, our scholars are empowered to grow, make strong choices, and keep reaching for their full potential. We want to thank her for dedication to nurturing our students so that they become successful, confident, and mature young adults.
Join us on February 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the AFHS Gymnasium for Voices in Color. We will be celebrating Black History Month with music, art, drama, and a motivational moment by Mr. Cameron I. Seawright. This event captures the magic and brilliance of Black culture and excellence. Come on out to watch our student performances and experience the richness of Black history.

Game night with a cause! Come out tonight to show your support for mental health and our Tigers. We will be playing the Bamberg Edhardt Red Raiders starting at 5 PM. Wear a shade of green to spread awareness for mental health and cheer on your team!
During Board Member Appreciation Month, we proudly recognize Ms. Catherine Russell for her outstanding leadership and dedicated service. As Board Chairman, Ms. Russell has served our district for 10 years, providing steady guidance and a strong voice for our schools. She is widely known as a champion for the community, having previously served with the Allendale County Sheriff’s Department as a victim’s advocate. We thank Ms. Russell for her unwavering service and the positive impact she continues to make in our district and community.
We are aware of the incoming storm expected this weekend and are closely monitoring weather conditions in coordination with the Allendale County Emergency Management Team. A decision regarding school operations for Monday will be communicated Sunday afternoon. While we strive to preserve instructional time whenever possible, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. As a precaution, students will be sent home with their devices and instructional packets. Families are encouraged to monitor local news outlets and take appropriate steps to prepare for the weather. Our Board Members play a critical role in shaping policies, guiding progress, and strengthening our schools. Ms. Chasity Meyers has served for 5 years and continues to make a meaningful impact in our district. She is a multifaceted leader who generously contributes her skills and time to our community. We appreciate her determination, leadership, and service to our schools and families.
Dreams, music, and memories are in the making! Tomorrow is your last chance to support the AFMHS Chorus Fill My Notes Fundraiser. All proceeds will fund their trip to New York. We appreciate any contribution you are able to make it as it supports our students and program.
Friday at 5 PM in the AFHS gymnasium we will play against the Bamberg-Edhardt Red Raiders. Help us shine a light on mental health at our basketball game. All guests are asked to wear a shade of green to show support and spread awareness. Let’s score points for mental wellness together!
This month, we celebrate the Board Members whose leadership contributes to the continued growth and success of our district. Ms. Farrah Maner has served for two years, bringing pride, passion, and a genuine commitment to our community. Her service helps foster an environment where students and staff feel valued and respected. We thank her for her continued service to public education.

Today we recognize Nakeisha Holloway who been serving on our board for 3 years. She is a thoughtful and diligent leader who consistently supports the efforts of our schools. Your service does not go unnoticed.
We are happy to share that we have returned to our full schedule following the winter storm. We will follow normal operations including arrival and dismissal time at each school. All after-school programs and athletic events will take place as scheduled. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we prioritized the safety of our students and staff. We look forward to seeing everyone at tonight's JV and Varsity basketball games against Ridgeland starting at 5:30 PM.
