Savannah River Nuclear Solutions proudly donated the book, Dave the Potter, in celebration of the legacy of Edgefield, SC native, David "Dave" Drake.
Mr. Dave's outstanding pottery was created using a clay layer of soil found in the Sandhills region in the 1800s. In 2006, a jar created by Mr. Dave was found at the Savannah River Nuclear Site in Aiken, SC.
Allendale-Fairfax Elementary school received a visit from Savannah River Nuclear Solution's Ms. Taylor Rice, Education Outreach Program Coordinator, and presented the book to Ms. Sheila Leath, AFES principal.
