Parents of Pre-K3 Students, we invite you to an informative meeting on Thursday, August 21st at 5:00 PM in the AFES Cafeteria. We are so proud that two of our paraeducators, Ms. Calhoun and Ms. Hightower, were selected to participate in the Center's EPIC Registered Apprenticeship. While attending the event, they both soaked up knowledge and expressed their passion for teaching. Ms. Hightower was awarded a copy of "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss because her reason for joining the program was so compelling! After completing one year of the program, they will eligible to gain educator certification through an alternative certification program and serve as the teacher of record! Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School is excited to announce that through its collaboration with Family Solutions and its partners, we will be able to provide weekend food powerpacks for our students! A special thanks to Tiffine Forester, Gwen Walker, Tonia Capers, Carolyn Lyles, Lamikka Samuel (Senior Director of Family Solutions), Tracy Golden and Romaine Stephens for personally packing and delivering the bags to our school yesterday. This initiative was possible through community partners who helped provide the food items for the powerpacks. We appreciate each of you for your kind acts of service and support of our district.

Get ready to level up on July 26, 2025 at our Annual Back to School Bash! This year we are making the Allendale Comeback, and we are ready for the games to begin! We invite members of the community to come out to the Tiger Stadium from 9-11 AM to receive free school supplies for their registered students. We will also have free games, food, and music to enjoy. Please come out to join the fun and get ready for next school year!
Students get ready for Summer CERDEP Spirit Week! Starting next Monday, June 23rd, students can elect to dress down according to our schedule and theme. We want to promote reading and learning in a fun, engaging way! Please be advised students are required to wear hard bottom shoes everyday and that no nightgowns are allowed. Students can only wear bottoms that are shorts or pants. Thank you for your cooperation and we can't wait to see you show your spirit!
Throughout the ceremony, the 5th graders gave several performances to showcase their talents. There was a beautiful cover of Diamonds led by one of our students. At the end of the ceremony, several students performed a sign language dance in honor of their achievement. We also had students recite a speech and conduct the ceremony. It is truly remarkable how intelligent and confident our scholars have become!
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our 5th Grade Graduation Ceremony. Mr. Elmore, a youth pastor, was a speaker for the event and he did not disappoint! The entire room was moved by his inspiring speech! He encouraged our scholars to not let any circumstance hinder them, and reminded us all that we are in charge of our own destiny.
Our Steel Drum Band gave their final performance of the year at the Promotional Exercise. For our 5th grade drummers, it was their last performance and a heartfelt farewell. We are excited to see them bring their talents to our AFMHS Chorus and Band.
Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave and Principal Sheila Leath handed out certificates to our scholars. They take pride in knowing the students have built a strong foundation at our elementary school. 5th grade was full of memories and milestones, but now it's time for the next step in their educational journey. While the transition is bittersweet, it is a moment we anticipate every year.
